Guided walks

There are three Guided Walks scheduled for 2026 at the moment. Further events will be added once confirmed. It would be really helpful if you could let us know if you intend to join any of the walks either through contacting one of the Committee or by sending a message using the Contact Form on this website.

3rd May  - Dawn Chorus at Wyre Forest. This has, in previous years, proved to be a popular event and will, once again, be led by Ed Benbow.

We will meet 05.55 (for a 6am start) in Hawkbatch Wood Car Park (Free). Postcode is DY12 3AF.

17th May -  Pensax/Menith Wood area. This walk will be led by Michael Northwood (farm owner and TVWG Committee Member). The farm is a mixture of traditional orchards, ancient woodland and species-rich grassland and is managed to promote wildlife diversity. The visit in May should see the flowering of meadow species that were considered ’common’ but are now increasingly rare, such as common spotted orchid, common twayblade, common milkwort, etc. and, hopefully, the chance to see some of the early migrant birds, such as redstart. Further details and directions to the farm will follow.

21st June - Hollow Meadow, Stoke Bliss. With thanks to Maggie Kingston (owner and TVWG Member), Teme Valley Wildlife Group has been given the opportunity to conduct a mini-BioBlitz at Hollow Meadow. After years of careful restoration overseen by Maggie, the site was designated, in the late 1990s, as a Local Wildlife Site for its rich botanical diversity. The event will start at 10.30 am and further details will follow.
